CAMERA AND THE CLASSICS
6 PARTICIPANTS. 2 HOURS EACH SATURDAY MORNING FROM OCT 30TH.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ALLOCATED WEEKLY TASKS TO COMPLETE, WITH THE aim to combine skills in Film Acting and Classical Text Study using the works of Chekhov. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
WEEK 1: CLASSIC TEXT SELECTION.
Discussion of your chosen text.
Allocate monologues.
WEEK 2: TEXT ANALYSIS.
Analyse the text line by line.
Look at context and subtext.
Look through beats.
WEEK 3: PHYSICAL ACTING.
Block monologue to camera.
WEEK 4: REHEARSAL AND CONTINUITY.
Consistency of emotional journey.
Understand the importance of continuity.
WEEK 5: DRESS AND TECH RUN.
Work through costume and rehearse technical aspects for recorded performance in week 6.
WEEK 6: SHOWCASE.
