In a unique and exciting opportunity, Director David Mercatali will recreate a rehearsal process through a series of six workshops on zoom.
a frequent Philip Ridley collaborator, with 6 world premieres together, nobody knows the work better and the scenes will be carefully chosen and come from the directors wealth of knowledge of the work.
At the end of the process there will be a final performance which will allow you to showcase what you have developed together.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
WEEK 1: Character background and history:
Identify the facts and questions necessary to understand our characters and what has brought them to this point in time.
WEEK 2: Events and intentions:
Look at what events underpin the text. where are the shifts and switches in action, and what are the characters intentions - how do they change during the scene.
WEEK 3: Rehearsal/Relationships:
Focus on developing character relationships and dynamics - finding of tension and conflict, growth of emotional journey.
WEEK 4: Rehearsal/Character Journey:
Refining of performance - characters journey and the conflicts within it are grown and developed.
WEEK 5: DRESS AND TECH RUN.
WORK THROUGH COSTUME AND REHEARSE TECHNICAL ASPECTS FOR RECORDED PERFORMANCE IN WEEK 6.
WEEK 6: SHOWCASE.
