Camera fairies

Do you have them? The name David has given to the apparently magic process the best actors have where they appear to be doing absolutely nothing to the eye, or even on a monitor on set, and yet when you see them in rushes, they are delivering a spellbinding performance. How?

With 35 years experience working with actors such as Timothy Spall, Jack O’Connell and Keeley Hawes, David has seen first hand how professional actors are able to engage an audience with captivating performances.

What makes an actor so compelling on screen? And how do you tell the truth whilst still keeping it ‘camera size’? In this practical workshop, David takes you through the technical aspects of acting for camera, how to prepare a scene, as well as harnessing the individual spark that makes an actor captivating to watch. The workshop will also explore the art of subtlety, how some actors say so much without doing anything at all, how to hone your uniqueness as a performer, and the techniques that encourage you to ’stop acting’ and live in the moment.

Your scenes will be recorded with broadcast quality equipment. Upon request, you have the option to receive your footage after the session for no extra cost!
