+ WORKSHOP FORMAT

Following an introduction, participants will perform 15-20 lines of their chosen Shakespeare scene with Matilda James under audition conditions (with the whole group present). Matilda will give each participant notes allowing them the chance to do a second take. This will be followed by a short tea break and an informal Q&A.

Matilda would like participants to be as familiar with the text as possible.

MATILDA'S BIO

Matilda has worked in casting for a decade, including 5 years as Casting Director for Shakespeare's Globe under both Dominic Dromgoole and Emma Rice, and as Casting and Creative Producer for Open Palm Films. Now freelance, she also works as a producer, specialising in script work and artist strategy, and is a founder member of The Murmuration, a women-led arts producing collective, with whom recent collaborations have included Kiev City Ballet, #Merky Films and Citizens of the World Choir, the UK's leading refugee choir
