+ WORKSHOP FORMAT

Having looked at your Spotlight CV and Showreel, Olivia Laydon will send out a selection of scenes before the workshop. Please choose a scene that suits you best regardless of gender, age and ethnicity. Olivia would like you to be as familiar with the text as possible.

Following an introduction, participants will film their tape with Olivia under audition conditions (with the whole group present). We have superb equipment for the best learning experience. Olivia will give each participant notes allowing them the chance to do a second take. This will be followed by a short tea break and an informal Q&A.

Your scenes will be recorded with broadcast quality equipment. Upon request, you have the option to receive your footage after the session for no extra cost!

Olivia’s first job in casting was as a full time assistant at the BBC working mainly on Doctors. During her 18 months there she was Casting Director for two blocks of Doctors and also worked on Father Brown & Shakespeare and Hathaway.Following her time at the BBC Olivia worked in Sydney for a year with Peta Einberg in a busy office on a variety of high profile commercials.Upon her return to the UK in 2020 she has worked as a freelance assistant with Rachel Freck & Alex Johnson on projects for film and streaming services.Olivia has worked as a Casting Associate with Amy Hubbard since November 2020 working on high profile projects including Feature Film Spencer.
