+ WORKSHOP FORMAT
This two day course will be a look at how Amanda preps to direct and then works on set - using a series of scenes from scripts she has directed, written by some of the UK's most talented writers. Everyone will get a chance to perform several pieces, although you'll learn as much by watching others. The course will draw on Amanda's many experiences - the stories she can't escape, her desire to explore script, her constant fascination in creating visual tone and atmosphere, her fastidious need to prepare and her love of seeing what happens. As well as her successes, she'll share her own anxieties and her own disasters as well as the many tools, special collaborations and mentors she has found along the way.
THE PROCESS WILL BE A FILMED AND SENT TO YOU (UPON REQUEST) FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE, WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU TO SHOWCASE WHAT YOU HAVE DEVELOPED TOGETHER OVER THE TWO DAYS.
+ BIO
Amanda Boyle is a highly sought after Television and Film director. She made her name with her inventive short films and hyper-real commercial work, winning a BRITISH ARROW FOR BEST NEW DIRECTOR. Her TV work began with iconic work for Channel 4 that included CAST OFFS and SKINS, shows that required intensive casting and collaborative writers rooms. Most recently she directed the finale of the BBC's critically adored CHLOE starring Erin Doherty and written by Alice Seabright. Amanda juggles series television with her own film work. She is also a BAFTA nominated producer.
