+ WORKSHOP FORMAT

Following an introduction, participants will film their tape with FInnian Tweed under audition conditions (with the whole group present). We have superb equipment for the best learning experience. Finnian will give each participant notes allowing them the chance to do a second take. This will be followed by a short tea break and an informal Q&A.

Finnian Tweed will send out a selection of scenes before the workshop. Please choose a scene that suits you best regardless of gender, age and ethnicity. Andy would like participants to be as familiar with text as possible.

FINNIAN'S BIO

Finnian Tweed is a Casting Director specialising in film and TV with 13 years of industry experience. In 2020 he set up Finnian Tweed Casting and works from the company office based in East London. Finnian has extensive experience working on American & UK/EU based projects. Recent credits include the action film DEN OF THIEVES 2: PANTERA starring Gerard Butler (releasing in January 2025), the latest David Ayer movie ‘LEVON’S TRADE’ starring Jason Statham (releasing January 2025) and the biblical epic ‘MARY’ starring Anthony Hopkins and directed by D.J. Caruso – currently a huge hit on Netflix. He is also casting ‘THE GUN ON SECOND STREET’ which Guy J. Louthan is producing. Currently we have a roster of feature films in development for 2025.

From 2018-2020 Finnian worked alongside Sophie Holland as her Casting Associate on 2 seasons of the hugely successful 8 part series 'The Witcher' for Netflix. He was also Sophie's Casting Associate on 'Young Wallander' for Yellow Bird UK/ Netflix and scores of other exciting projects including NBC pilot seasons 2019 and 2020. In 2018 he worked with Gary Davy on a number of shows including 'The Spanish Princess' for Starz. Prior to that he worked with Suzanne Smith on ‘Outlander’ and at the BBC in house casting dept where his Casting Director credits included ‘Doctors’, ‘The Break’ Series 2 (BBC3 iplayer online) and the October 2017 ‘Sky Drama Table Read’, hosted by the BBC Writersroom. He also worked on several award winning shows at the BBC including: ‘Holby City’ (57 episodes) ‘Father Brown’ (2 seasons) and ‘Shakespeare and Hathaway’ (2 seasons).

Further television projects as assistant include: ‘HIM’ for ITV ‘BORN TO KILL’ for Channel 4 ‘OUTLANDER’ SERIES 2 for Starz ‘HILDA’ (animated series) for Netflix ‘THE DUMPING GROUND’ Series 5 for CBBC ‘THE WORST WITCH’ for CBBC. Notable theatre projects as assistant include: ‘HARRY POTTER & THE CURSED CHILD’, Palace Theatre. (Director: John Tiffany). ‘ORESTEIA’ at Almeida & Trafalgar Studios. (Director: Robert Icke). ‘BLUE/ORANGE’ at Young Vic. (Director: Matthew Xia) ‘YERMA’ at Young Vic with Billie Piper. (Director: Simon Stone). ‘Hamlet’ at the Barbican (Sonia Friedman Productions, (Director: Lyndsey Turner). ‘Tipping the Velvet’ at Lyric Hammersmith. (Director: Lyndsey Turner). ‘Martyr’, a Co-Production of Actors Touring Company and the Unicorn Theatre, (Director Ramin Gray). ‘HIGH SOCIETY’ at the Old Vic. (Director: Maria Friedman) ‘BATMAN LIVE THE WORLD ARENA TOUR’ (Director: Steven Paling) Notable film projects as assistant include: ‘THE EXCEPTION’ starring Christopher Plummer and Lily James, (Director: David Leveaux).
