+ WORKSHOP FORMAT

Following an introduction, participants will film their tape with Emily Jacobs under audition conditions (with the whole group present). We have superb equipment for the best learning experience. Emily will give each participant notes allowing them the chance to do a second take. This will be followed by a short tea break and an informal Q&A.

Emily Jacobs will send out a selection of scenes before the workshop. Please choose a scene that suits you best regardless of gender, age and ethnicity. Emily would like participants to be as familiar with text as possible.

EMILY'S BIO

Emily Jacobs has been working in casting for 12 years, starting off as assistant & associate to Karen Lindsay-Stewart, Andy Brierley, Nadira Seecoomar among others. Emily has been “Casting Director” of projects alongside Karen L-S for the past 5 years including “Eternal Beauty” starring Sally Hawkins, Billie Piper & David Thewlis, “The Tower” for ITV starring Gemma Whelan & Jimmy Akingbola, “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans” directed by Hugh Laurie and starring Will Poulter, Lucy Boynton & Emma Thompson as well as BBC1’s Julia Donaldson animations. Coming to TV soon are “The Velveteen Rabbit” for Apple & “Murder is Easy” for BBC1 @ Christmas.
