WRITE A SHORT SCRIPT

6 participants. 3 hours each Sunday from October 17th. Participants will be allocated weekly tasks to complete, with the idea of developing a 10-15 minute script over the duration of the course. There is no need to have an idea ahead of the course starting. No previous writing experience required.


WORKSHOP FORMAT

WEEK 1: Storytelling Fundamentals

WEEK 2: Character Analysis and Character Development

WEEK 3: Character Presentations 

WEEK 4: Story pitches. Defining the beats

WEEK 5: First Draft

WEEK 6: Second Draft

**Following the course, participants have the opportunity to submit a re-worked draft of their script to receive a two page feedback report.**


BIO

Dee Meaden is a writer, director and producer with over fifteen years experience in film and advertising. She is currently developing a number of feature length projects and is represented by Tracey Hyde at Casarotto Ramsay & Associates.

Dee studied sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art and Chelsea College of Art and Design and enjoyed success as a fine artist ahead of moving to narrative film and completing an MA in Directing Fiction at the NFTS.

Her work has been screened at numerous international festivals including Warsaw, Telluride, Birds Eye View, BFI London Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, LSFF and Edinburgh International.

Within advertising, Dee has Produced and Directed for agencies such as Grey, Langland and Prodigious and worked extensively as a Senior Director for Saatchi and Saatchi. She has Produced and Directed campaigns for brands such as Very, EE, Pampers, Toyota, Anchor, British Gas, Head & Shoulders and Garnier.

Dee also has extensive experience as an educator of film and has designed and run courses for Youtube, Google, The MTA and the Met Film School.
