For four sessions, Max will take you through the rehearsal process he used to stage the critically acclaimed productions of Moonfleece and Tender Napalm. Join us as we look at duologues from Philip Ridley's most famous and provocative plays, and learn how to get right under the skin of this prolific playwright's work.
Max's process draws on his extensive working relationship with Ridley, and you'll learn how to meet the particular demands of Ridley's unique text, whilst fleshing out deeply convincing and realistic characters.
AT THE END OF THE PROCESS THERE WILL BE A FILMED FINAL PERFORMANCE WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU TO SHOWCASE WHAT YOU HAVE DEVELOPED TOGETHER.
BIO
Max Harrison recently directed Philip Pidley's 'seminal' play Tender Napalm, nominated for THREE Offie awards including BEST PRODUCTION and BEST PERFORMER for both its actors.
This is the second time Max and Ridley worked together, the first being back in 2018 when they staged his hit play Moonfleece. Max has now come off the back of assisting legendary theatre director Mike Alfreds, (Shared Experience, Different Every Night) after being mentored by him for a year over lockdown.
He runs his own theatre company, Lidless Theatre, and has several projects in development.
