A SHOWCASE OF NEVER-SEEN-BEFORE SHORT MONOLOGUES BY PHILIP RIDLEY

An exclusive post show event that champions up and coming talent from RUN AT IT SHOUTING (a theatrical platform for actors and industry alike). Seven actors will perform brand new, never seen before short monologues by Philip Ridley, each specifically selected for them by Philip himself. The monologues are directed by Max Harrison. This exciting post-show event is part of the theatrical premier of Philip Ridley's current triumph 'The Poltergeist'. Don't miss this wonderful spectacle that champions up and coming talent from the RAIS community.

Philip Ridley - Writer

Philip was born and grew up in the East End of London. He studied painting at St Martin’s School of Art, and his work has been exhibited widely throughout Europe and Japan. As well as three books for adults (Crocodilia, In The Eyes of Mr Fury and Flamingos in Orbit) – and the critically acclaimed screenplay for the The Krays feature film (winner of The Evening Standard Best Film of the Year Award) – Philip has written many highly regarded and hugely influential stage plays: the seminal The Pitchfork Disney (now published as a Methuen Modern Classic), The Fastest Clock in the Universe (winner of a Time Out Award, the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright, and the Meyer-Whitworth Prize), Ghost from a Perfect Place, Vincent River (nominated for the London Festival Fringe Best Play Award), the highly controversial Mercury Fur, Leaves of Glass, Piranha Heights (nominated for the WhatsOnStage Mobius Award for Best Off West End Production), Tender Napalm (nominated for the London Fringe Best Play Award), Shivered (nominated for the Off- West End Best New Play Award), Dark Vanilla Jungle (winner of an Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Award), Radiant Vermin (published as a Methuen Modern Classic), Tonight With Donny Stixx, Karagula (nominated for the Off-West End Best New Play Award), The Beast of Blue Yonder, The Poltergeist (winner of the Off West End OnComm Award for Best Live Streamed Play) and Tarantula.

Max Harrison - Director

Max is a freelance theatre director and Co-Artistic Director of Lidless Theatre. His work has spanned seven years and ranges from devised shows to new writing and revivals. After training as an actor at LAMDA he was mentored by Mike Alfreds and recently assisted him on Five Characters in Search of a Good Night’s Sleep (Southwark Playhouse). He is interested in process orientated rehearsals that centre around the actor’s creativity and imagination.

Professional directing credits include Tender Napalm (King’s Head Theatre), Moonfleece, (Pleasance Theatre), In Place of Fear (Pleasance Theatre) and Little Pieces of Gold (Southwark Playhouse).

Lukwesa Mwamba stars in CELLAR

Lukwesa is a Botswana born actress. Trained at both LAMDA and GFCA.  She's performed in the London debut of the tony award-winning American play Vanya, Sonya, Masha and Spike, as Nina (Charring Cross Theatre). The original Production of Watching Windows (Edinburgh fringe festival) Blown Youth (New Wimbledon Theatre) Sankara (cockpit)

Oliver Jenkins stars in DUCKLING

Oliver’s TV credits include Agatha Raisin Acorn Tv / Sky 1, The Left Behind BBC, The Accident Channel 4 and his film credits: Christopher Robin Walt Disney Studios, Leprechaun Returns Lionsgate & Syfy, Carrie’s War BBC.

His theatre credits: The Play That Goes Wrong West End - directed by Mark Bell. The Hairy Ape The Old Vic - dir. Richard Jones. The Twits Royal Court - Dir. John Tiffany. World Cup Final 1966 Bristol Old Vic - Tom Morris.

Joseph Black stars in AFTERMATH

Joseph’s theatre credits include: Ray in The Coloured Valentino Arcola Theatre, Tunde in Sessions UK Tour & Soho Theatre, Ezekiel in Moreno at Theatre 503, Othello in Othello TNT Clay in The Dutchmen, Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night and Claudio in Much Ado with GB Theatre Company, William the Troll, Bombur and The Great Goblin King in the Duke Theatre’s award-winning park show, The Hobbit (UK Theatre Award – Best Show for Children and Young People, Northern Soul – Best Theatre Production), Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire with Rapture Theatre Company, Baloo / The Monkey King and Rann in Greenwich Theatre’s Jungle Book, The Beast in Beauty and The Beast at Salisbury Playhouse, Cleomenes in Cheek By Jowl's Winter's Tale, Orange Tree Theatre’s Romeo and Juliet as Lord Capulet, Friar Laurence and Prince and a European tour of Othello as the titular character with TNT.

Naomi Bowman stars in TOMORROW

Naomi trained as an actor in London and Denmark. Recent work includes playing Beatrice in Network Theatre's queer retelling of Much Ado About Nothing and Catherine Howard in The Six Wives of Windsor. Naomi was invited back to Denmark to perform her poetry and an extract from A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Josie Ayers stars in POND

Josie performed at the Soho Theatre Company, toured internationally with the Centre for Performance Research, understudied at the National and, played Antigone and Jokasta in Omma at the Young Vic. She also played the lead in a film for Marillion’s album Brave, directed by Richard Stanley.

Josie recently featured in a Lookout production for Disney Plus, The Ballad of Renegade Nell directed by Ben Taylor.

Terry Bamberger stars in LEGACY

Terry is an award-nominated actor who hails from San Francisco, California, predominately working in stage there. Terry features as a lead scientist role for a BBC tv show and is starring in an episode for a new (release Fall 2023) murder mystery tv show.
