Shomit Dutta’s new play Yes...No...Wait tells the story of Harold Pinter and Samuel Beckett during and after a cricket match where things do not go to plan. Pinter and Beckett were friends. They both loved cricket and both played the game—but never together. This darkly comic piece, a two-act two hander, imagines what might have happened if they did, in the summer of 1964, somewhere deep in the Cotswolds—when Pinter, aged 34, was a young but already established playwright and Beckett, aged 58, was soon to win his Nobel Prize.
